Objectives
Fallopian tube cancer (FTC) is an uncommon malignant tumor compared to other gynecologic malignant tumors. The purpose of this study was to investigate the Transvaginal Ultrasonographic (TUS) features and to establish specific findings useful for the preoperative diagnosis of FTC.
Methods
From 1996 to 2014 thirteen cases of cancer involving the fallopian tube were diagnosed at our Institution. In six of them the lesion was limited to the tube; one of them was an adenocarcinoma in situ. In the other seven cases (3 adenocarcinoma NOS, 2 serous adenocarcinoma, 1 endometriod adenocarcinoma, and 1 carcinosarcoma) there was simultaneous involvement of the ovary in 4 cases, of the endometrium in 1 and of both in 2.
