In recent years, measurement of quality of life is receiving increased attention. We used the satisfaction with life and subjective happiness scales in older adults living in urban areas in the Maule Region, Chile; generalized linear models were computed (n= 396). We discovered that (1) gender is linked to the satisfaction with life,(2) satisfaction with ones own economic situation have robustly effects on satisfaction with life and happiness, and (3) unhealthy days, family importance and satisfaction with food are the strongest predictors of both satisfaction with life and happiness.
