This paper focuses on two aspects. First, it analyses basic data on Spanish-Romanian professional translators’ practices regarding the documentation process based on a questionnaire and an interview. Second, it highlights, through examples, a comparative work methodology applicable to the translation legal concepts that pose a problem due to the lack of those concepts in the target language (Romanian, in this case) and in the context of the scarce number of bilingual documentation sources specialized in the legal field.
