Methods: There were 156 ASAI-III patients undergone to ureterorenoscopy between November 2006 and April 2007. Unilateral spinal anesthesia (SpA) with 2.5-3ml hyperbaric bupivacaine 0.5% was applied in 107 of them. General anesthesia (GA) was applied to 20 patients. Main reasons for GA application were patient’s request. GA was applied in three patients due to surgeon request because of moving stones through renal pelvis during procedure.
The standard GA technique for URS procedures consist of induction with 2mg/kg propofol and maintenance with sevoflurane in Nitrous oxide/Oxygen without neuromuscular blocker. LMA was the preferred airway for respiration. Sedoanalgesia (SA) was applied to 29 of them with 0.5 mg/kg ketamine and 0.5 mg/kg propofol and consequent bolus doses as patients needs.
